Eastern Africa Association Lecture & Conference 2026

Africa holds substantial capital in its pension funds and its diaspora, yet still turns abroad to fund its landmark deals, and its markets remain shallow and disconnected. Why, and what
would change it. Now in its fourth edition, the Lecture convenes a small audience from across the region’s financial sector for a serious discussion, curated on the margins of Investing in Africa week in London.

WHO ATTENDS?
Chief executives of securities exchanges. Capital markets and pension regulators. Finance ministries. Development finance institutions, institutional investors and advisers.

THE FORMAT

A twenty-minute keynote, and a panel responding under the Chatham House Rule. Past lectures have been delivered by Dr James Mwangi, Group Chief Executive of Equity Bank, and Professor Victor Murinde of the African Economic Research Consortium.

THE EVENING
The Lecture is followed by a reception at the House of Commons, co-hosted with the Westminster Africa Business Group.
