27 Sep 2022 Kinshasa (DRC) The EastAfrican. President Félix Tshisekedi says Kenyan soldiers will arrive in the DRC as part of the East African Community regional force that will help fight insecurity in North and South Kivu, and Ituri provinces;

27 Sep 2022 Nairobi (Kenya) Daily Nation. President William Ruto names his 22-member cabinet, notably appointing Musalia Mudavadi as the prime cabinet secretary, Rigathi Gachagua as deputy president, Alfred Mutua as foreign affairs cabinet secretary, Kithure Kindiki as interior security and Njuguna Ndung’u as treasury secretary;

27 Sep 2022 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The Citizen. United States (US) chamber of commerce in Tanzania chairman Geofrey Mchangila says a delegation of 19 US companies is in Tanzania to explore investment opportunities in various sectors, notably including agriculture, ICT, energy and productive sectors;

27 Sep 2022 Kampala (Uganda) Reuters. Energy minister Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu says Uganda will hold its third oil block licensing round next year, as it seeks to develop its petroleum sector in a bid to expand its economy;

26 Sep 2022 Nairobi (Kenya) The EastAfrican. Kenya exports its first goods under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement to Ghana;

24 Sep 2022 Nairobi (Kenya) The EastAfrican. African Union Watch joins calls to the European Parliament to revoke its 14 September resolution condemning the East African Crude Oil Pipeline project between Uganda and Tanzania;

22 Sep 2022 Nairobi (Kenya) The EastAfrican. Over 2,000 Nigerian investors petition Kenyan courts to unfreeze KSh 1.44 billion ($11.8m) locked in Safaricom and four banks, saying they were swindled in transactions involving Africa-focused payments giant Flutterwave;

22 Sep 2022 Nairobi (Kenya) The EastAfrican. Newly elected President William Ruto makes maiden address to the United Nations General Assembly, asking the World Bank, IMF and other multilateral lenders to extend new reliefs for debt-burdened African countries to allow them to recuperate from multiple economic shocks;

22 Sep 2022 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) The EastAfrican. Tanzania and Mozambique sign new agreements to protect their shared border against an increasing terrorism threat caused by ongoing insurgency movements in northern Mozambique;

21 Sep 2022 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Sudan Tribute. South Sudan vice president Taban Deng Gai arrives in Addis Ababa for an official working visit intending to further strengthen multilateral ties between the two neighbours.
