23 Apr 2025 Djibouti (Djibouti) Egypt Today. President Ismail Omar Guelleh will host his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, today to discuss regional issues in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa;

22 Apr 2025 Nairobi (Kenya) Africanews. President William Ruto arrives in China for a four-day state visit;

22 Apr 2025 Djibouti (Djibouti) AfDB. African Development Bank (AfDB) says it concluded a mission to Djibouti on 11 April during which the bank and authorities renewed their development partnership;

22 Apr 2025 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) WFP. World Food Programme (WFP) warns that hunger and malnutrition are rising in Ethiopia but that humanitarian needs are outpacing resources;

22 Apr 2025 Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Addis Standard. Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) announces a series of “military victories” against the Fano armed group in the Amhara Region, claiming to have killed more than 300 fighters in one day;

20 Apr 2025 Kinshasa (DRC) Al Jazeera. DRC suspends the political party of former president Joseph Kabila and orders the seizure of his assets, accusing him of high treason over alleged ties to M23 rebels;

19 Apr 2025 Asmara (Eritrea) APA News. Information ministry says 85% of the population has access to safe and clean water, up from just 13% in 1991, a milestone in national development;

19 Apr 2025 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) Africanews. Opposition party Chadema says it has failed to meet with its leader, Tundu Lissu, as well as his family and lawyers;

18 Apr 2025 Kigali (Rwanda) RFI. A Global Witness investigation reports that coltan linked to the conflict in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo has likely entered the European Union market after being smuggled out through Rwandan smuggling routes and sold to commodities traders, including Luxembourg-based Traxys;

18 Apr 2025 Kigali (Rwanda) The East African. Rwanda says it will grant Southern African Development Community (SADC) soldiers based in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) safe passage to withdraw from the conflict zone;

18 Apr 2025 Kampala (Uganda) RFI. Government says it is planning to reintroduce military trials for civilians despite a supreme court ruling in January that banned the practice;

16 Apr 2025 Nairobi (Kenya) Times Live. Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) says it will lift a decade-long moratorium on licensing new commercial banks on 1 July, stating that significant strides have been made in strengthening legal and regulatory framework for Kenya’s banking sector;

16 Apr 2025 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) Reuters. Opposition Chadema calls its disqualification from the upcoming elections “unconstitutional”;
